Our History

The Knauss Homestead was established in the early 1700s by Johann Ludwig Knauss, one of the region’s first settlers. The home, constructed with traditional colonial-era stone masonry, has stood the test of time, offering a glimpse into life in early America.

Once a family residence, the homestead has since become a living museum, offering guided tours, historical reenactments, and educational workshops that transport visitors back in time.
